- They present a solo rescue. Good adjustment often requires clear coordination with others.
- They claim a perfect result. A credible answer can acknowledge a controlled compromise.
- They offer a vague lesson. Saying you became flexible does not show a changed habit.
Use a decision pivot
Organize the answer around the moment you changed course. Briefly describe the previous priority. Introduce the new constraint. Then show the decision rule that guided your revised plan.
Imagine a hypothetical internship where an urgent reporting request arrived during a scheduled review. The candidate checked which deadline carried the greater operational consequence, confirmed expectations with both owners, completed the urgent data check first, and rescheduled the review with a specific handover note. The experience led the candidate to confirm priority and dependency at the start of each day.
