It is how you identified the likely error, changed the workflow to catch it, and knew the output was safe to use.

Where accuracy stories stay unconvincing
- Choosing an example with no consequence. Routine proofreading does not reveal how you respond when accuracy affects a customer or decision.
- Hiding behind we. Team context is useful, but the interviewer still needs your own judgment and action.
- Describing effort instead of design. Working slowly or staying late is not a substitute for a reliable control.
- Failing to prioritise. Not every field carries the same risk, and the answer should show where attention went first.
- Skipping the learning. A good control should improve the next piece of work, not disappear after one successful task.
Make the answer auditable
A concise response can follow the same logic as a small quality review.
- Standard. Explain the rule, source, or customer instruction that defined the correct result.
- Risk. Identify the most damaging or likely mistake before describing the controls.
- Control. Show how you prevented the error and how a different check detected anything that slipped through.
- Escalation. Explain what you would not decide alone and when you involved another person.
- Evidence. Give the final confirmation and the process improvement carried forward.
Specificity makes the story credible. Name the fields checked, the comparison used, the exception found, and the verification received while protecting confidential details.
