UBS opened its 2027 graduate and internship applications in July–August 2026 — the same window as JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley. If you're reading this in October and haven't applied yet, you're already late: UBS hires on a rolling basis, and seats disappear as applications come in.
When do applications open and close?
UBS opened 2027 applications in July–August 2026. There is no single published closing date. UBS recruits on a rolling basis and closes each division once it's full. In practice, competitive divisions like Investment Banking and Global Markets fill well before any nominal end date. Check the official UBS careers page for the current status of your target division — don't assume it's still open.
The rolling trap
Rolling means first-come, first-served. UBS screens applications as they arrive and sends out assessment invitations in batches. Applying in October puts you behind candidates who applied in August, competing for fewer remaining seats. If your division is still listed as open, apply this week — not next month.
How to apply
- Go to the UBS careers site and filter by Graduate or Summer Internship, London.
- Pick one division. UBS expects a tailored application — don't send the same generic CV to every desk.
- Submit the online application: your CV plus short motivational questions. Answer "why UBS" with specifics — a recent deal, a team you follow — not generic prestige talk. Keep your CV to one page; recruiters spend under a minute on the first screen.
- Complete the online assessment if shortlisted: cognitive ability tests plus behavioural and personality questionnaires. These are timed and adaptive — practise under time pressure before you sit the real one.
- Pass the video interview (ModernHire): pre-recorded questions, usually around 2 minutes per answer. Expect a mix of motivational questions ("why UBS, why this division") and competency questions ("tell me about a time you led a team"). Structure every answer: situation, action, result.
What happens after you apply
Online application → online assessment → video interview → assessment centre → offer. The full cycle typically takes 4–8 weeks, but rolling means early applicants hear back faster. If you stall at any stage, your application sits while others move ahead of you. The assessment centre is the final filter: expect a group exercise, a case study or technical interview, and a strengths-based interview with senior bankers. Prepare for all three in parallel — by the time you're invited, there won't be much lead time.
