A generic JP Morgan 2027 Video Interview answer says that research was conducted and a plan was created. For Global Private Bank, the useful story is the chain of judgment between those two events.
The real question
Keep the wording exact:
Provide an example of a project where you sought out relevant information and used it to develop a plan of action. Describe the situation, the actions you took, and the outcome.
How you lose points
- Choosing a passive assignment. The prompt requires you to seek information, not receive it fully prepared.
- Confusing detail with relevance. Strong answers explain the selection rule for evidence.
- Skipping tradeoffs. A plan should reveal what you prioritised and what you left out.
- Using an outcome with no baseline. The listener needs a comparison to judge improvement.
- Forgetting iteration. A checkpoint or feedback loop makes the plan executable.
How you pass
Use four links: uncertainty, search, synthesis, action. Define what the team did not know. Explain where you looked and how you separated useful evidence from noise. Show the plan's sequence, ownership, and test point. End with the result and one adjustment you would retain.
In a hypothetical case, a student group has to recommend a launch market. One member builds criteria, gathers comparable demand and cost data, checks conflicting figures, and ranks the options. The final plan pilots the leading option before wider commitment. That story demonstrates disciplined information use rather than decorative research.
