Citi 2027 Applications Guide

Citi 2027 Applications: Deadlines, Timeline & How to Apply

Citi opened 2027 applications in August 2026. Like every major bank this cycle, Citi recruits on a rolling basis — so by October, the process is well underway and the easiest seats are already taken.

When do applications open and close?

Applications opened in August 2026. Citi does not publish a single firm closing date; it hires on a rolling basis and closes divisions as they fill. That means there is no safe "deadline" to aim for — only the current state of your target division, which you should check on the official Citi careers page before assuming it's still open.

The rolling trap

Rolling recruitment rewards speed twice: early applicants face less competition per seat, and they get assessed while recruiters still have full attention for each file. By October, you're entering a process where many candidates are already at the video interview or assessment centre stage. Don't wait for a deadline that doesn't exist — apply now.

How to apply

  1. Go to the Citi careers site and filter by Summer Analyst or Full-Time Analyst, London.
  2. Choose one division — Banking, Markets, or Services. Citi wants to see a clear, specific rationale for your pick. Vague interest across all three reads as no real interest in any of them.
  3. Submit the online application: CV plus motivational questions. Generic answers get filtered fast — connect your background to the division in concrete terms.
  4. Complete the online assessment if shortlisted: Citi uses Plum-based assessments covering problem-solving, personality, and work style. Plum measures traits, not knowledge — answer honestly but be aware it's screening for role fit, so understand what the role actually demands first.
  5. Pass the video interview, then the assessment centre for final-stage candidates. Expect competency questions and, for markets and banking roles, technical questions on current deals and market trends.

What happens after you apply

Online application → online assessment (Plum) → video interview → assessment centre → offer. The full process typically takes 6–10 weeks. Because it's rolling, applying now still works — but prepare for the Plum assessment and video interview before you submit, so you can move the moment you're invited. The assessment centre is the final hurdle: group exercises, a case study or technical interview, and competency interviews with senior staff. Candidates who prepare for all three in advance consistently outperform those who wait for the invitation to start.
