The BCG application process
1. Online application. CV and cover letter, plus office preferences. BCG wants evidence of intellectual horsepower and leadership — grades, test scores, and real impact in whatever you've done.
2. Online case assessment (chatbot case). BCG's distinctive screen: a chatbot-led case where you work through a business problem by choosing responses and doing quick math. It's timed and adaptive. Strong candidates treat it like a real case interview — structured thinking, fast arithmetic — because that's exactly what it rewards.
3. Behavioural games (in some regions). Short neuroscience-based games measuring cognitive and emotional traits. There's no studying for these in the traditional sense, but knowing the format removes the surprise factor.
4. First-round interviews. Two interviews, each combining a case with behavioural questions. BCG cases are candidate-led: you drive the analysis, structure the problem, and own the math. They're watching how you think, not whether you land on the "right" answer.
5. Final round. Two to three interviews with principals and partners. Same format, higher stakes, less guidance.
